Art Harvestings

Hello Art land.  Just wanted to update some stuff I’ve been developing over the last few months.  I know it’s been a while since my last post, but my brain is always working towards what’s to come next.  Lately I’ve had a fixation towards the collective consciousness that resonates through different cultures and tribes, especially told through their mythological stories.  I’ve thought about how I can translate that into my work and created these.

Traversing the Stratosphere 16 x 20 in.

Here are some insects I’ve been having fun with.  Imagine them as invading giants…creepy!

Here is a collection of “Prehistoric Beasts” that I’ve been playing around with for a future series.  I’d like to introduce more primitive creatures into my work to take on the antagonist role, in developing more of a storyline to my women.  It’s time for them to face their fears & struggles in the battlefield!

This was a piece I did for the “Super iam8bit” group show I was asked to be in.  However, shortly before the show, they told me my piece didn’t coincide with their theme (old school video games).  I chose Mortal Kombat 2, (which came out in 1993) as my inspiration, based upon the 2 strong female characters in the game.  They spoke relatively to my vision as an artist and the imagery I choose to depict.  Despite the fact that the piece wasn’t shown, I am happy with how it turned out and learned a lot from the experience.

Kitana & Mileena 11 x 14 in.

I enjoy sketching ferns.  Here is a sketch I did up in Big Sur overlooking the rocky beaches.  Nothing like waking up from camping out and walking down to the beach to spend time with Mother Nature.

And what better way to end this post than with a sketch of Diabla doing what she does best.
