Snake Goddesses in the Rising…

These little paintings inspired a new direction to my work.  I’ve had a calling to snakes recently and their association to the female figure in mythology.  They represent the renewal of life, due to how they shed their skin and are like the reborn dead.  I wanted these women to feel grotesque, yet beautiful.  Primal, sexual and fertile!  That’s how these goddesses roll.

Hello!  I recently created these portraits for the annual “Coaster Show” for L.A. Weekly’s, Beer week at La Luz de Jesus Gallery.  Apologies for not posting them sooner on here.  They were loads of fun to create!  I was really vibing on unique hairstyles. Coaster1(web)
