I got a piece published in this student magazine. It’s a ball point pen drawing I drew from life of this “regular” I would see at the “Brite Spot Cafe” in Echo Park. I went thru this phase where I sat and drew there for 2 weeks, and he was always there. I think he knew I was drawing him.
I also got kicked out one day, cuz I stood there for like 3 hrs. and only ordered a coffee. But I was sitting in one of those big booths and it was getting busy…so I respectably took the hint.
I was sooo happy to be apart of this show at Billy Shire Fine Arts gallery.
I’m just bummed, cuz 2 of the 4 images published in the annual don’t mirror my actual pieces very well. But it taught me to be more responsible with my documentation. I sold 2 of the pieces at Thinkspace Gallery, so I was real stoked.
